A New Breath at the Izmirlian Library of YSU
With the support of the Izmirlian Foundation, the first floor of the YSU Library has reopened
One of the first major initiatives implemented in Armenia by the Izmirlian Foundation was the technical and content modernization project of the library of Yerevan State University. In 1996, the Foundation played a significant role in the reconstruction and technical upgrading of the library building, which was later named after Sarkis and Marie Izmirlian.
Thanks to the Izmirlian Foundation’s consistent support and contributions to the development of education and science, Book Giving Day was marked by the reopening of the fully renovated first floor of the Sarkis and Marie Izmirlian Library of YSU. Redesigned with innovative solutions and a renewed functional concept, the hall now bears the name of National Hero of Armenia, Dikran Izmirlian.
Within the scope of the major renovation, the library’s infrastructure was comprehensively improved. The entrance hall of the first floor was reconstructed, the lighting and ventilation systems were modernized, and a contemporary glass roof was installed.
With its innovative and inspiring environment, the library will serve the university community as a platform for knowledge creation and the development of innovative ideas, fostering the full realization of academic and scientific potential.
