Repatriation and Armenia–Diaspora Relations

The Izmirlian Foundation plays an active role in strengthening ties between Armenia and its global diaspora while supporting repatriation and integration efforts.

  • Enhancing Repatriation Services. Through technical support to the Repatriation and Integration Center of the Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, over 1,000 individuals have benefited from improved services facilitating their return and integration into Armenia.
  • Supporting Global Armenian Dialogue. The Foundation co-financed the Second Global Armenian Summit, convening more than 1,000 participants, including 800 representatives from the diaspora, to strengthen collaboration, exchange ideas, and shape a shared vision for Armenia’s future.

Economic Development

The Foundation advances inclusive economic growth by supporting entrepreneurship, job creation, and innovation.

  • Supporting Small and Medium Enterprises. Over 200 micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises have benefited from subsidized loans and financial initiatives implemented in partnership with local financial institutions—resulting in the creation of more than 2,600 jobs.
  • Investing in Innovation and Technology. Through its investment in the Granatus Ventures - the first and largest venture fund in Armenia focused on technology - the Foundation has directly contributed to the creation and sustainability of around 330 jobs. Overall, more than 2,100 jobs in Armenia’s technology sector have been created or maintained through the fund’s portfolio.

Humanitarian Assistance

In times of crisis, the Izmirlian Foundation provides rapid and meaningful support to vulnerable populations.

  • Emergency Relief and Food Security. Foundation-financed initiatives improved food security and hygiene conditions for approximately 50,000 vulnerable individuals affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh War, through the distribution of essential food supplies and hygiene items by the Armenian Red Cross, World Vision and the Armenian Apostolic Church.
  • Mine Clearance for Safer Communities. In partnership with The HALO Trust, the Foundation supported the clearance of 42,000 square meters of land in Artsakh, helping restore safety and usability to affected areas.
  • Large-Scale Humanitarian Contributions. In 2020 alone, the Foundation donated USD 500,000 to the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund as part of a global appeal to deliver urgent humanitarian assistance to Armenia and Artsakh.
