Izmirlian Medical Center: Advancing Excellence in Healthcare with a Social Mission
Ongoing
Summary
The Izmirlian Medical Center (IMC) is the Izmirlian Foundation’s flagship healthcare project and its largest philanthropic investment in Armenia’s healthcare sector. The project was launched in Yerevan in 2008 through the initiative of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, with anchor donation support from the Izmirlian Foundation in collaboration with Louis Simone Manoogian.
Since 2013, the Izmirlian Medical Center (IMC) - the largest philanthropic investment in healthcare in Armenia - has played a transformative role in expanding access to high-quality medical care. Today, the Center provides more than 220,000 outpatient consultations and around 7,000 inpatient treatments annually, serving thousands of patients with professionalism, compassion and a commitment to clinical excellence.
IMC has developed into one of Armenia’s leading healthcare institutions, combining modern medical infrastructure, specialized expertise and patient-centred care.
At the heart of the Center’s mission is the vision of Mr. Dikran Izmirlian that IMC should be not only a centre of medical excellence and a provider of high-quality healthcare, but also an institution that ensures access to care for people and communities most in need. In keeping with this vision, the Izmirlian Foundation has co-financed a range of targeted healthcare initiatives enabling vulnerable populations to receive quality medical services, particularly during periods of crisis. These initiatives have supported Armenians affected by conflict and instability in Syria, Lebanon, Iraq and Ukraine, wounded military personnel following the Artsakh wars, and displaced people from Artsakh, among others. In this way, the Center’s clinical capacity has also become an important platform for humanitarian response and social support.
