Dual vocational education and training in agriculture in Armenia (MAVETA)

Completed
Modernizing Vocational Education and Training in Agriculture in Armenia 2022-2025 - MAVETA

Summary

The MAVETA – Modernising Vocational Education and Training in Agriculture in Armenia project was designed to strengthen Armenia’s agricultural vocational education and training system and better align professional skills with the needs of the labour market. The programme responds to persistent challenges in rural areas, including shortages of qualified agricultural specialists, outdated training programmes, limited links between vocational education and employers, and insufficient opportunities for practical, work-based learning.

Launched in September 2022, MAVETA promotes a dual agricultural vocational education and training (A-VET) system, combining classroom-based education with practical learning in companies.

391 professionals, graduates and private sector representatives in agriculture upgraded their knowledge and skills.

The project supported the creation of 245 employment opportunities, contributing to rural development and income generation.
